Taoyuan is a city enriched by convergence.
Its mountain ranges, water channels, irrigation ponds, and coastlines form a fertile landscape that nurtures a city that is ever-welcoming and constantly in motion.
Through ongoing dialogue and integration, diverse communities—Hakka, Indigenous peoples, Hoklo, Military Dependents' Village residents, Yunnan-Myanmar migrants, and new immigrants—have forged Taoyuan's distinct culinary heritage together.
Rice dishes carry the shared memories of these varied communities. These dishes serve as the most heartfelt language for discovering Taoyuan as their aroma connects the land, hospitality, and culture.
With Rice and Aroma as its core curatorial themes, Tao Flow Canteen builds upon three guiding concepts—Inclusivity, Integration, and Prosperity. The exhibition connects the cultural roots of six ethnic groups, local Taoyuan brands, and specialty cuisine.
By combining culinary banquets, flavor markets, food salons, and bento box experiences, the Canteen offers a multi-sensory exhibition of the city. From viewing and understanding to ordering, exchanging, and sharing flavors, visitors are invited on an immersive journey of discovery. Between a single dish and a lingering aroma lie Taoyuan's inclusive cultural resilience and its vibrant, ever-flowing vitality.
