Markets, Action!

Market Flow
09/24-10/11

Exhibition Introduction

From the sound of the first shipment gradually waking up the market at dawn, to the brief, quiet rhythm of the alleys in the afternoon, followed by the crowd gathering once again at dusk, commercial districts and markets are like a stage in the city. Some open their doors for business, some pause along the way, and others join in with fresh ideas, keeping the stories alive.

Embarking from Taoyuan, "Markets, Action!" steps into iconic commercial districts and traditional markets across Taiwan. Through the diverse perspectives of business owners, consumers, and designers, this exhibition reveals how design drives the pulse of commercial areas, connecting people, spaces, and services, and uniting these diverse roles to orchestrate a harmonious chorus of vibrant marketplaces.

Stories about design, space, and people are quietly transforming the everyday landscape of these districts and markets. We welcome you to step into "Markets, Action!" and discover who is making their grand entrance today.

Spatial Design

草原市務所

Founded in 2019, UMEADOW specializes in architecture and curatorial thinking. Collaborating with interdisciplinary expert teams, we have supported numerous brands and government agencies in thematic planning. Starting from the performative potential of content, we craft communication-oriented spaces that foster meaningful engagement between people and pressing issues. With an open and curious outlook toward the world, we excel at framing complex topics and translating them into accessible narratives. Through the design of spatial experiences, we convey the essence of brands and ideas—empowering information to resonate more deeply. Our collaborators extend beyond commercial and governmental sectors; we are equally committed to exploring issues that surround humanity and the living world. At UMEADOW, we seek to reframe topics into experiences that invite participation and spark inspiration. We create connections—between people and content, between space and those who enter it.
